GKN Weekly Update 9/19/11

Happy Early Autumn! Is it just me or did it literally “fall” on us this past Thursday?

I am a very happy camper right now. I mean, I usually am, but especially so at this particular moment. Why? For starters, I am still basking in the glow of the kick-ass birthday party that was thrown for me over the weekend. It was an amazing experience and thanks to those of you who attended for the gifts and great company.

I am also happy for the personal record I set of having NINE, count ’em, NINE VO projects on hold at the same time. As of this writing I recorded two of them and one fell through so that leaves six. What an awesome feeling to know I have so many great things coming my way!

The third reason I am happy is because I am going to FaffCon 3 this weekend!!! I’m really looking forward to spending quality time with some very special people. I also hope to gain some serious insight about the voiceover industry and take my career to the next level.

TIP OF THE WEEK: At first, having nine VO projects up in the air annoyed me since it’s hard to schedule anything because you have no idea what your life is going to be like in the near future. I quickly realized, “Hey! This is a good problem to have!” and snapped out of it. Six years ago I was happy to get one VO a week! It’s a blessing to have so many people that want you to contribute to their success.

So once again, this tip is for me: Don’t get caught up the minutia of the moment. Be thankful for everything good that happens to you every day.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: You know, sometimes I wonder if the fornicating I’m getting is worth the fornicating I’m getting. “Pippin the Musical”

STUFF!: I just wanted to say thank you for the birthday wishes, all 250+ of them! I was completely blown away by the amount of personal little messages so many of you sent. I’m lucky to have so many wonderful people in my world!
